After Hurricane Hugo nearly destroyed the Linwood house gardens in 1989, Linda Shelborne worked to bring horticultural order back to the grounds of the Victorian mansion.
Honeysuckle, magnolia, camellias, and colorful azaleas stand out among the sprawling plant life that blooms year-round.
Linda and her husband Peter opened Linwood Inn in 1995 with a strong proclivity for family and hospitality. And just as the Shelborne’s revitalized their property into the award-winning garden it is today, they hope the exquisite space provides guests with a similar experience: retreat, restoration and recreation in the deepest sense of the words. Book your short or long-term stay at the one of three Linwood Cottages.
