In celebration of the holiday season, the Summerville Bed and Breakfast Association will host a Holiday Stroll on Thursday, December 7th, 2023.
Lowcountry Trolley will provide whimsical transportation for the stroll, shuttling guests to five charming bed and breakfasts, each offering unique activities and delightful holiday treats.
The gracious hosts include Flowertown Bed & Breakfast, Chick-Inn on Main, Flowertown Charm, Magnolia Inn, and Caroline’s Bed & Breakfast.
With expected Summerville southern hospitality, each of the hosts will offer festive delectables and memorable experiences as you enjoy the most charming town in the South.
This event, created to showcase Summerville's charm and support a local non-profit, follows the success of the 2021 and 2022 Summerville Porch Strolls.
The tours will begin and end at Katie’s Krops Flagship Garden, where visitors can enjoy a special holiday tour with their gardening elves.
100% of proceeds benefit the local non-profit Katie's Krops.
Note: Trolleys are not handicap accessible; a driving option is available with limited parking.
Step back in time and indulge in the welcoming atmosphere of Flowertown Bed and Breakfast, decorated in all its Holiday glory. This charming 1889 Victorian house is nestled in Summerville's quaint historic district and invites you to experience the enchantment of the season as you step inside.
Take a stroll through the front parlor, where a crackling fireplace emits warmth and vintage stockings hang from the mantel, waiting patiently for Santa Claus's arrival. The furnishings and festive touches of the period transport you to a Christmas of yesteryear, preserving the rich traditions and timeless allure of days gone by. Guests will leave with some of our favorite holiday treats.
Experience authentic Southern hospitality at its finest! Built in the tradition of grand Southern homes, Caroline's offers an inviting and comfortable atmosphere that entices quests from the moment they arrive to come sit awhile and relax while enjoying a beautiful gourmet breakfast. Petticoat stairs (dating back to 1700s and 1800s) lead to the majestic front porch. This is just one of the many porches and sitting areas tucked away in the gardens and landscaping.
Stroll the backyard, where you can gather by the new open-air pavilion's outdoor fireplace in a winter wonderland! Discover a spacious porch on the cottage and a stone walkway leading to a picturesque arbor for intimate events. The home inside and out, will be adorned with Christmas decorations sure to fill you with holiday cheer.
At the Tiki Bar, indulge in Mulled Pomegranate Sippers and Christmas cookies, a perfect warm-up. As we like to say at Caroline's, arrive as a guest, leave as a friend!
In the early 1800s, just beyond Summerville's historic district, lay the quaint pineland village of Stallsville, encompassing 431 acres of plantations and farmland. As Summerville evolved, one of Stallsville's few historic homes emerged in the 1870s, now known as the urban farm stay, Flowertown Charm. Once a dilapidated fixer-upper, a couple from Hawaii meticulously restored it, showcasing original heart pine woodwork without a single knot. The craftsmanship extends to 8 fireplaces with original mantles and unique ceiling details in each room.
The charming farmhouse stands in the midst of modern Summerville, housing a friendly farm at the back.
Guests are welcome to come snuggle the overly friendly farm animals and admire the farmhouse decorated for Christmas with dancing lights and dwarf goats in sweaters. Come get a glimpse of this magical urban farm stay, full of Aloha Spirit & Southern Hospitality. As the couple likes to say, they are city in the front, and country in the back!
Let’s get into the Chickmas Spirit, Y’all! Join us crazy chickens on our festive 1890’s porch! Our family-owned Bed & Breakfast welcomes guests from all walks of life (fur guests, too) and is centrally located in the historic district of Downtown Summerville! Hospitality is tailored to YOUR stay!
