The Flowertown Players perform at the James F. Dean Community Theater in the heart of the historic downtown. The James E. Dean theater was built in 1935 by Carolina Films, Incorporated. Each performance is handicap accessible and offers a sound system for hearing enhancement for the hearing impaired. Admission ranges from $15 - $25 per person.

Public Works Art Center is the heart of the arts community in Summerville. Featuring three galleries with rotating exhibits, there’s always something new to see. Public Works has 12 rentable studio spaces for local artists and a gift shop. There are art classes for people of all ages, from one time classes to multi-week intensives. The Summerville Artist Guild is dedicated to stimulating interest in Visual Arts, encouraging all levels of artistic ability, and promoting Art education within the Summerville community. The Summerville Artist Guild began in 1976 with a small group of artists joining together to celebrate their love of art. The Guild offers monthly meetings with art demonstrations, member shows and art workshops throughout the year.

The mission of the Summerville Community Orchestra is to enrich the cultural climate of the greater Summerville area with entertaining and educational performances; and to provide opportunities for volunteer musicians to play for the pure joy of it. Founded in 2003 by a group of approximately 20 musicians, the orchestra is made up of musicians from Summerville, South Carolina and the Lowcountry.
